Cleaners X13 at Tshwane University of Technology

• The Department of Facility Management in the Directorate of Logistical Services seeks to appoint Cleaners X 13. This is a one year fixed-term contract based at Giyani Campus.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection instruments. Applicants who previously applied are encouraged to reapply. Kindly note that these positions are open exclusively to Limpopo Province residents therefore, applicants primarily residing in the said Province will be given priority.

Key performance areas/Core functions:

• General cleaning of facilities and equipment: dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, washing walls, windows, carpets,dishes and emptying dustbins
• Cleaning of floors, toilets and bins
• Refilling hand soap and toilet papers
• Stripping and sealing of floors
• Daily cleaning of assigned cleaning equipment before storing
• Adhere to safety regulations with regards to protective clothing, use of electrical equipment and use wet floor signs when required
• Spring cleaning
• All reasonable tasks to be performed on request
• Report faults to team leaders and supervisors
• The fault reporting includes lights that are not working, plugs, broken windows, missing window clips, broken tables, chairs and blocked toilets, any faults in toilets that needs repairs.
• Report non-functioning cleaning equipment

Academic Qualification:

• NQF level 1
• General Education and Training
• Grade 9/Abet level 4 National Certificates

Experience:

• One (1) year relevant experience

Other Special Requirements

• Physical ability
• Required to work after hours.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of using cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of different cleaning chemicals
• Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety
• Communication
