    Client Director

    Overview

    We’re seeking a highly driven Client Director who can build and maintain strategic partnerships with our wholesale clients, including Discretionary Fund Managers, Multi-Managers and Advice Networks. This key role will help the business meet its strategic growth objectives by credibly representing the business and its investment capabilities.

    The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with high initiative and activity, upholding client-centricity in all they do.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with wholesale clients, including Discretionary Fund Managers, Multi-Managers and Advice Networks
    • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the retail and wholesale market and investment landscape to drive new business and effectively grow our assets under management.
    • Undertake strategic account planning based on an in-depth understanding of client strategies and value propositions to appropriately identify opportunities to position M&G’s investment capabilities. This includes effectively interpreting performance data to utilise results to build a client strategy factoring in specific client needs.
    • Achieve targeted AUM objectives by initiating and furthering new business activities for new and existing clients.
    • Ensure a high standard of client engagement, including frequency and quality of client contact.
    • Co-ordinate, manage and deliver client presentations, including new business presentations and regular report-back presentations.
    • Be aware of industry and legislative developments (both domestic and international), assess implications and develop appropriate strategic responses where required.
    • Drive fee and new business proposals and manage and coordinate the development of various legal agreements with clients.
    • Ensure professional and appropriate client-related communication, presentations, due diligence documents, investment commentaries and other client-related servicing.
    • Coordinate support from other business areas to ensure professional and efficient client delivery.
    • Develop thought-leadership articles and presentations to aid M&G’s marketing initiatives.
    • Participate in public forums, fund conferences, and investor road shows supporting M&G’s strategic initiatives.
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date administration of CRM system in terms of all client-related communications and activities.
    • Manage distribution of periodic marketing collateral within the market.
    • Co-ordinate and provide input into the Due Diligence Questionnaire process, collaborating with various internal stakeholders in close partnership with the Tender Management Team.
    • Oversee and support the onboarding process for new clients, working closely with internal stakeholders.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and procedures, providing more efficient and timely execution of team tasks.

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • An appropriate tertiary education with a good understanding of investment markets, economics and investment products (CFA, CIPM designation, and similar will be an advantage)
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in asset management/asset consulting/discretionary fund management/family offices / financial services industry
    • An understanding of both retail and institutional product lines, as well as alternative and offshore strategies.
    • Strong commercial acumen and business insight, with a good understanding of investment concepts

    • Can pre-empt client’s concerns and questions and undertakes in-depth research and homework before an engagement to ensure they can respond appropriately and confidently.

    • Is proactive and takes initiative. Thinks positively and is focused on finding solutions.
