    Chief Information Officer (CIO) - (1097)

    Key Responsibilities:

    The CIO is responsibility for: 

    1. Strategic Leadership:  Aligning IT strategy with the overall business objectives of the organization, working closely with other C-suite executives and board members to develop long-term IT plans that support business growth, innovation, and efficiency.
    2. IT Governance: Establishing and maintaining IT governance frameworks to ensure that IT investments and initiatives are aligned with the organization's goals, compliant with regulations, and adequately managed to mitigate risks.
    3. Technology Innovation:  Stays abreast of emerging technologies and trends that could impact the organization's industry and business model. Lead efforts to explore and adopt innovative solutions that can drive competitive advantage and improve operational effectiveness.
    4. Information Security: Accountable for ensuring the security of the organization's information assets, including data, systems, and networks.  Develop and implement robust cybersecurity strategies to protect against internal and external threats, comply with regulations, and safeguard customer and corporate data.
    5. IT Operations Management:  Oversees the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including infrastructure management, application development, support services, and vendor management.  Establish performance metrics and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that IT services meet the needs of the organization and its stakeholders.
    6. Digital Transformation:  Leads digital transformation initiatives aimed at leveraging technology to improve business processes, enhance customer experiences, and drive innovation. Furthermore, collaborates with business units to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and digitalization of workflows and services.
    7. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:  Manages the IT budget and allocate resources effectively to support strategic priorities and operational needs. Prioritize investments based on ROI, risk assessment, and business value, and ensure that IT spending is optimized and aligned with organizational goals.
    8. Stakeholder Engagement: Engages with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, employees, customers, partners, and vendors, to understand their needs, gather feedback, and communicate IT initiatives and accomplishments. Builds strong relationships and foster collaboration to drive business outcomes through technology.
    9. Talent Development: Responsible for attracting, retaining, and developing top IT talent to support the organization's strategic objectives.  Needs to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and diversity within the IT department, and provide opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
    10. Risk Management and Compliance: Needs to assess and mitigate IT-related risks, including cybersecurity threats, data breaches, system failures, and compliance violations.  Ensuring that IT policies, procedures, and controls are in place to mitigate risks and maintain regulatory compliance.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    • A relevant ICT university degree is required, relating specifically to Information Technology and Information Systems.
    • A relevant post graduate degree is desirable, relating to business administration or other business management qualifications.

    Experience 

    • A minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience in the ICT field of which five (5) years are in a similar role as a senior manager of an ICT department/ operations department is required.
    • Proven experience of successful strategic ICT planning and execution.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
    • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
    • Proven track-record of successful implementation of ICT projects and management of service providers
    • In-depth experience in the use of Microsoft systems, Microsoft software and mobile technology is essential.
    • Relevant experience in the perishable produce export industry or a regulatory environment is advantageous.
    • Proven experience and knowledge of cloud technologies, SaaS solutions, outsourcing including negotiating and managing such contracts with vendors.

    Data Administrator (People with Disability) - (1102)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Review and track the incoming requests from Internal and External stakeholder.
    • Acknowledge requests received.
    • Provide feedback to Data Analysts to plan accordingly.
    • Work with data analyst to Understand the business questions to be answered.
    • Understand and analyse the data available to support the business question.
    • Understand the data models with data relationships.
    • Prepare data exception reports.
    • Investigate data anomalies being reported.
    • Store evidence of findings to assist in communication with operations and data stewards.

    Job Requirements

    Laboratory Technician - (1098)

    The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the following:

     

    • Ensures accurate and timeous completion of prescribed analytical protocols (SOPs) and accompanying administrative duties.
    • Analysis of pesticide residues in fresh produce using the QuEChERS extraction technique
    • Optimize the use of the equipment in the preparative section of the laboratory.
    • Ensure service delivery to customers.
    • Self-Management.
    • Minimize financial Risks.
    • Implementation of QMS (ISO 17025).
    • Communication and reporting to internal stakeholders.
    • Management of critical consumables.

    Job requirements:

    1.    Qualification required:

    • Minimum qualification of a National Diploma Analytical Chemistry or related field.

    2.    Experience required:

    • At least 2 years of experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited facility.
    • Analysis of pesticide residues using the QuEChERS extraction technique.
    • Implementation of accredited methods, increasing the scope of accreditation and a particular understanding of the technical processes including   HPLC/UPLC/GC-MS-MS/LC-MS-MS.

    3.    Key responsibilities:

    Method Validation:

    • Ensure that any changes are made to the methods if necessary.
    • Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration.
    • Participate in proficiency testing.

    Quality Control:

    • Perform Internal Verification of Equipment.
    • Ensures that the accommodation and environmental conditions of the laboratory is controlled and recorded accordingly.
    • Checking quality and suitability of chemicals.
    • Recording quality controls.

    Technical processes - implementation:

    • Sample registration on LIMS.                                                   
    • Extraction of routine samples.
    • Weighing, homogenizing, mixing, and filtering.
    • Equipment verification (balances, volumetric flasks, pipettes).
    • Pesticide analysss - QuEChERS extraction technique
    • Preparation of reference standards.
    • Preparation of daily solvents and standards
    • Participation in proficiency testing schemes.
    • Instrumentation setup - loading of samples on chromatographic instruments.

    Meetings:

    • Participate in laboratory staff meetings.

    Implementation of QMS (ISO 17025):

    • Implement standard QMS protocols.
    • Consistent and correct application of analytical test methods.
    • Compliance to statutory requirements.
    • Record all non-conformances observed for further investigation.

    Communication, Advising and Reporting:

    • Comment and report timely on irregularities.
    • Effective communication and reporting that leads to improved internal relationships and decisions.
    • Ensures that all test results comply with the documented quality control criteria.
