Commis Chef - Somerset West at Helderberg Personnel

Requirements:

• A minimum of six months relevant experience in a similar environment
• Accredited culinary accreditation relevant to the role
• Ability to hospitality related hours
• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage, cleaning stations and sanitation
• Ability to thrive and work under pressure, with high-level multiple tasking abilities
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, particularly with dangerous equipment such as knives
• Good level of numeracy and the English language
• Guest-oriented and service-minded

Responsibilities:

• Primary duties include preparing food prior to meal service, setting up and stocking kitchen stations
• Plating cooked food
• Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practice
• Assisting other Chefs
• Assisting with deliveries, re-stocking and stock rotation
