Communications and Marketing Officer at Ilembe District Municipality

Description

• Develop and implement marketing, communication and branding initiatives aligned with municipal strategies and objectives.
• Create, edit and distribute communication and promotional content, including media releases, newsletters, publications, brochures, reports, speeches, advertisements, website content and other corporate communication materials.
• Coordinate communication and public awareness campaigns to promote municipal programmes, projects, events and service delivery achievements.
• Manage and maintain the Municipality’s corporate identity and brand standards across all communication platforms, publications, events and stakeholder engagements.
• Coordinate advertising and promotional activities across print, broadcast, digital and community media platforms to improve municipal visibility and stakeholder awareness.
• Assist with the management and updating of digital communication platforms, including the municipal website and other approved communication channels.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with marketing agencies, service providers and other strategic partners.
• Identify partnership and funding opportunities that support municipal marketing, communication and development initiatives.
• Provide communication and branding support to municipal departments and advise management on communication-related matters.
• Compile communication performance reports, maintain records and databases, and monitor the effectiveness of communication and marketing initiatives.
• Represent the Communications Unit at meetings, workshops, campaigns and stakeholder engagements as delegated by Manager Communications.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Communications/Public Relations/Marketing (NQF Level 6)
• Computer Literacy relevant to communications
• Code EB Driver's License
• 3 - 4 Years Experience
