    Communications Manager

    Communications Manager 

    You will be part of the General Secretary (GS) Department and, working with the GS Director and be solely responsible for internal and external communication. Coordinate and manage internal activities and work across internal functions and divisions to ensure consistent approach to the management of communications within the global Danone policies.

    Key Areas of Responsibilty:

    Event and project management

    • Manage projects against defined project plan
    • Coordinate the logistics for internal events and manage against defined project plans (Annual Conference, Monthly Business Updates, Danone Day, Family Day etc)
    • Manage relation with suppliers - prepare briefs and manage their deliverables
    • Manage internal stakeholders
    • Manage budgets related to the event

    Internal Communication

    • Manage all internal communication platforms across all depts (MD, Finance, HR, Quality, GS, IT, Operations, R&I, MKT)
    • Synthesize information in order to translate data into meaningful messages for internal distribution
    • Participate in internal departmental meetings and assess needs. Conceptualise and implement internal coms plan that inspires and builds employee ambassadorship
    • Manage Cluster Coms and be the local GS SPOC for Danone Day/One Voice Survey/Financial Results / Crisis Coms/Organisational Announcements /Product Launches /Diversity Committee/Quality/WISE/Compliance/OPOH/Danone Way audit
    • Prepare for and present GS at New Employee Inductions
    • Develop IC Objective with KPIs, conceive and approve a strategy and implement the plan - plan to include the on-line strategy for workplace and intranet
    • Quarterly report back to EXCO

    Danone Website management

    • Monthly maintenance of the content for the corporate website
    • With the digital manager, set KPI for Content Management and Performance
    • Community Management for FB/IG
    • Provide quarterly stats on performance

    Identify key stakeholders for DSA

    • Build stakeholders mapping and engagement strategy
    • Complete an annual materiality matrix - impact to business, influence, positioning
    • Author, design and edit 4 newsletters per annum

    On and offline media relations (Company and brands)

    • Brief media monitoring for traditional and digital media monitoring
    • Quarterly dashboard for coverage (AVE, titles in which exposure receives, journalists, key messages and tonality, draw business insights)
    • Develop and nurture local media relations who can be contacted for strategic content
    • Develop press events and materials for the media, for Danone Company and their brands
    • Develop LinkedIn Strategy and execute plan to deliver the KPIs
    • Identify and maximize media opportunities (press, radio, TV, internet) and set up interviews with Danone Company's representatives

    Crisis Communication

    • Provide support, advice & content for sensitive or crisis communication (message house press release, Q&A, etc.)
    • Prepare for Crises Coms audits (Crisis Coms Manual, stakeholder database, front line training, audit schedule, prepare brief for media training, simulation)

    Qualification(s):

    • BCom Communication or a similar degree
    • Honours or similar will be an added advantage

    Experience and Skills:

    • 5-8 years' experience in a Communications role
    • Strong PowerPoint / Word / Excel skills
    • Photoshop / InDesign (basic knowledge advantageous)
    • Excellent written and verbal and presentation skills
    • Dual culture in corporate environment and digital/social media planning and activation
    • Business-savvy and appetite for general and business and health news
    • Knowledge of health care practitioners and key opinion leaders
    • Reliable and able to manage confidential information
