    Content Developer

    What you will do

    • Reporting to the ACL Content Manager, your role as a Content Developer will give you scope to make an immediate impact in a fast-moving environment. Our ACL department automates legal documents for the Canadian market for litigation practice, including statutory court forms shipped with ACL, as well as general legal and correspondence documents customised on behalf of our clients.

    You will have a wide and varied role, but we think the most important responsibilities will be;

    • Document construction, formatting and styling, using MSWord as well as proprietary MSWord-like user interfaces.
    • Researching and understanding the environment in which a document operates, applying that research to your work.
    • Analysing the degree to which the document should be automated.
    • Marking-up and automating the document using in-house programming tools involving document logic ("if then/else"), fill points/stop-codes and dialogs.
    • Have the scope to work to a technical level, but still with creativity.
    • Testing, trouble shooting, and maintaining the documents developed

    What do you need to be considered?

    • We know you will have a wide range of skills and experience, but we think the most important to thrive in this role would be;
    • Must have advanced word processing skills in general and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word in particular, being able to understand the nuances of styling, paragraph formatting etc.
    • Experience using macros would be beneficial
    • Be analytical, structured, organized, methodical and logical in your work
    • Must have an eye for detail and enjoy working to high standards.
    • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team
    • Able to pick up new skills quickly, with a drive to continually develop yourself.
    • Be able to manage time well and work accurately at a fast pace.
    • Good working knowledge of Windows Operating System, MS Office, Internet and MS Outlook.
    • Be able to work from our Cape Town office – this is an on-site position.
