Job Overview:
Our client is looking for a trustworthy, hardworking and responsible Control Room Operator to monitor alarms and CCTV activity in their private control room during the night shift.

• The successful candidate will assess incidents, coordinate the appropriate response, communicate with managers and security services, and accurately record relevant incidents and actions taken.
• The ideal candidate will be down-to-earth, respectful and dependable, with strong moral values and a willingness to take responsibility and go the extra mile when required.
• Previous control room or alarm monitoring experience will be advantageous but is not essential for the right person.

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Previous experience in a control room, monitoring, security or similar environment will be advantageous.
• Experience or knowledge of alarm monitoring systems will be beneficial.
• Must be comfortable working night shifts according to a 3-on, 2-off roster, including weekends.
• Must be willing to work overtime when required
• Good communication skills in Afrikaans and/or English.
• Basic computer literacy and the ability to work with monitoring systems.
• Must be able to work independently and remain focused throughout the shift.

Duties:

• Monitor all incoming alarms and CCTV activity, identifying incidents or activity requiring attention.
• Review and assess alarm activations and CCTV observations to determine the appropriate response.
• Contact the relevant manager and coordinate with security services when intervention is required.
• Maintain clear, accurate and prompt communication with managers and security personnel.
• Accurately record incidents, alarm activations, actions taken and responses.
• Follow established control room procedures, escalation processes and security protocols.
• Remain alert and attentive throughout the shift, responding promptly and appropriately to incidents.
• Escalate unresolved or significant issues to the relevant manager when necessary.
• Perform any other reasonable duties related to the control room function.
