    Cost Performance Analyst

    About The Job

    Analyse the Factory’s costs, losses as well as the performance of the use of available resources and report such analysis to management for decision-making and control.

    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

    Cost

    • Deliver the required savings year on year and continuously identify opportunities to save costs
    • Ensure accuracy of records for auditing purposes
    • Daily/Monthly tracking of productivity initiatives to ensure accurate savings are recorded for financial reporting
    • Support Industrial controller during month-end closing and reporting
    • Prepare accruals to be done with regards to Quality block items, Temp labour not invoiced, any potential risks on losses/gains due to cut-over orders
    • Monthly reporting on Production volumes to required stakeholders
    • Monitoring BOM accuracy in SAP and reporting any errors to the Master-data team as well as R&I to be corrected
    • Monitor and manage the manufacturing accounting systems and related policy and procedures. This includes the setting of standard costs, variance analysis, inventory accuracy, internal controls, ERP system integrity, etc
    • Cost analysis of Packaging and processing orders to identify any Bom abnormalities
    • Forecast overhead spend for various departments.

    Performance

    • Identify focus improvement projects (losses, efficiency)
    • Work on ad-hoc projects as and when the need arises (losses analysis and pay-back input)
    • Identify, implement and monitor cost saving initiatives to help improve industrial productivity
    • Track and advise business on all labour KPIs (hours, Tons/FTE, labour utilization)
    • Ensure proper SOP’s are in place with regards to stock counts, processing of orders and R&I trials to avoid any financial risks and gaps for errors to occur
    • Ensure visible, clear and concise reports to all business levels and manage related queries with regards to labour variances and loss reporting
    • Assist in budgeting and reporting against budgeted results
    • Manage job costing and profitability
    • Support Annual external audit preparation as well internal audits

    Loss Analysis

    • Management of system accuracy with regards to Processing and packaging orders
    • Daily calculation, management and reporting of production losses to the plant
    • Recommend corrective actions in respect of variations on Processing and Packaging orders to key users
    • Accountable for coaching and guiding understanding of losses within plant
    • Identifying key loss contributors and monitoring of initiatives to combat these contributing factors
    • Monitor the accuracy of weekly/monthly stock counts and ensure the required approval is received before stock adjustments are posted

    R&I Support

    • Cost All R&I planned trials for Rolling Forecast accuracy
    • Raise Orders for all R&I trials as and when necessary and make sure actual consumption is recorded
    • Ensure approvals are received for all trials that are done
    • Cost and record R&I trials for re-billing purposes between cost centres as well as for Record keeping and traceability
    • Record and report all Reformulation initiatives for Productivity purposes

    Supply chain support

    • Calculate the actual IDL Logistics cost for the month based on actual volume distributed, fuel rate for the month to confirm the IDL Logistics invoice
    • Report on the trade returns by customer by SKU for analysis purposes

    About you

    Experience And Skills

    • Up to 3 years financial and performance management experience
    • Sound understanding of input costs across the value chain especially in a manufacturing environment
    • Computer literate, with preference to SAP and Excel

    Reason For Essential Qualification & Skills

    • Strong skills in project management incl. strong written + verbal communication
    • Ability to lead and influence others, be empowering, inspiring and a good coach

    State specific complexities within the role

    • Understanding of input costs across the value chain especially in a manufacturing environment
    • Adherence to Finance / Internal control requirements
