Controller (Air Freight) at Bidvest International Logistics

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric essential
• Industry related experience
• Extensive all round knowledge of Air/Sea Freight with at least 2 years in a similar enviroment

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the efficient Customs clearance and release of shipments in line with agreed KPI's
• Ensure all shipments are handled in line with client requirements and all risks are identified and mitigated
• Manage all abnormal, including Hazardous shipments appropriately
• Ensure operational effectiveness, efficiency and quality control at all times
• Manage the operating system and ensure it is updated at all times
• Continuously add value
• Update client reports once information is available

Skills & Competencies

• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• Well developed people skills
• Ability to liaise and negotiate at all levels within an organisation
• Work independently and after hours 
• Knowledge of Customs modernisation
• Understanding the various legislation that governs the business
