    Country Controller

    About the Job

    • Are you willing to continue your professional development as a Country Controller? Our Finance SEMEA area is expanding and is looking for highly analytic and proactive professionals to collaborate in a multidisciplinary and energetic team.
    • Your main purpose in this role will be to support the Service and Automation business in South Africa and ensuring that statutory and group requirements are met, that the legal unit is compliant with laws, regulations and organizational principles and policies. Ensuring the efficient finance and admin function for South Africa legal entity to support financial targets of specified businesses.
    • You will be based in our Durban office.

    Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

    • Secure with other responsible stakeholders that local statutory accounts, bookkeeping, taxation, and financial requirements are met and coordination of compliance related work in the legal entity (like statutory, internal audit, internal controls)
    • Coordination of the transactional type of work with Valmet Global Financial Operations according to defined work split according to Finance transformation
    • Business partner to local Service and Automation businesses providing results analysis and presentations to all different stakeholders and member of management teams if applicable
    • Contribute to Group monthly reporting practices timely manner and with high quality (Cognos, IPM, HFM).
    • Ensure efficient, accurate, value added and timely manner lead and managed standard reporting, business support and analysis
    • Ensure continuous development and implementation of controlling processes and tools according to Group and Valmet Business targets
    • Managing required finance processes (like Transfer Pricing, Credit policy) and guide business to follow processes
    • Leading change management programs from South Africa perspective
    • Provide support to nominated Business Partners within the service business locally, in EMEA and in Global matrix, explaining finance topics to non-finance colleagues
    • Continuous development of best practices in use of systems and processes across business lines to ensure smooth financial processes and accurate reporting
    • Participation in Valmet development projects like ERP and internal trade

    To succeed in this role, you will need:

    • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant
    • Minimum 5 years´ experience in similar roles
    • Strong Excel and systems skills with strong capability to enhance finance process development
    • Strong analytical skills
    • High degree of personal drive, with the initiative to solve problems in a pragmatic time effective manner
    • Proven resilience in a changing business environment
    • Strong technical finance background
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working teams
    • Ability to drive change efficiently and adapt quickly to changing business models and processes
    • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills
    • Strong self-management skills
    • High degree of personal drive, with the initiative to solve problems in a pragmatic time effective manner
    • High level of English, both verbally and written

    Additional information:

    • This role will be part of the SEMEA and EMEA finance team. The South African Finance & Admin team is supported by South Europe and Middle East – region finance, EMEA finance organization, a Global Financial Operations in Finland and various finance experts in corporate finance functions
