Credit Controller at Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS)

Description

• To follow up on outstanding debt to ensure that it is collected timeously. 
• To develop and implement policies and procedures for the environment to ensure compliance.
• To escalate outstanding debt to improve the collectability of debt.
• To process debt, write off and debt impairment to ensure that the debtor's book is collectable.
• To provide an effective service in respect of debt and cash flow management.
• To provide input into the reporting process to ensure that stakeholders have complete, accurate and timely information for decision making purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Commerce and / or equivalent qualification in Finance or Debt Collection.
• 2-3 years relevant experience.

Knowledge:

• Good knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) and other financial and accounting principles
• Understanding of relevant legislation, including PFMA and Treasury regulations.
• Implementation of internal controls
• Business & System processes
• Ability to make an informed decision.
• Ability to draft OLA’s, policies and procedures
• OLA management; and
• Knowledge of Customer Services
