Data Collection Analyst at Potentiam Limited

Job Description

Potentiam is recruiting for Data Collection Analyst for a UK based Company.  They are a research and analytics firm focusing on film TV and communications sectors. They work with an extensive range of media and communications companies, including Hollywood studios, TV channel groups, streaming TV companies, pay TV operators and telecoms and technology companies.

The role will be focused on supporting Ampere’s Content Tracking Solutions, utilizing in-house programming solutions to collect data in an automated, high-scale fashion.

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate with a passion for TV or film and an interest in data collection, processing and visualization. Training will be provided on the job for software and programming languages used, so no prior experience is necessary, but any prior exposure to elements of programming will be potentially beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with colleagues to expand and extend its data coverage, with a particular focus on availability of content across streaming, TV and video games

• Develop data and programming skills in Python and SQL to help collect, generate and manipulate large data sets relating to the content industry

• Help to build and refine client-facing data visualization applications powered by core databases of information 

• Potential future responsibilities include: the opportunity to manage people, as the team grows; and the chance to get involved with consultancy work, creating ad-hoc data solutions for some of the biggest media companies

Requirements

Education & Skills 

• A University degree or equivalent is required (Comp Sc)

Skills & Experience 

There is no set background for a good analyst, and different skills open up different opportunities within the profession. A previous exposure to programming would be beneficial for this role, but is not required and can be learned on the job.

5. Lateral thinking: Being able to think outside the box to help generate solutions to challenges faced by Ampere, and to help clients with more open-ended problems
