Data Scientist at LexisNexis South Africa

Responsibilities:

• Providing support to Data Scientist team members, taking a lead on projects and tasks
• Defining project scopes, and developing, testing and delivering outcomes
• Pulling and cleaning data alongside building and maintaining the existing data model
• Participating in result presentation to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

• Have substantial experience in a data scientist role
• Be a natural problem solver, able to collaborate with your team to resolve issues
• Have great verbal and written skills, able to communicate professionally and provide feedback to colleagues
• Have a passion for technology and a desire to learn and progress quickly
• Have a good working knowledge of software development methodologies
• Practical experience with Natural Language Processing methods and libraries such as spaCy, word2vec, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Flair, BERT, NLTK, OpenNLP, and StanfordNLP.
• Familiarity with large language models
