Department Manager - SPOC (Centurion) at Leroy Merlin

Description
Purpose of the role 

• Responsible for the planning and control of the product range in the Store.   

Main Responsibilities 

• Prepare and implement merchandise plans in alignment with the company strategy 
• Analyse and review historical data and provide recommendations. 
• Prepare product forecasts for National and Local promotions as per Category Managers recommendation to maximize sales and profitability. 
• Analyse overflow, evaluate and measure product and store performance.
• Provide accurate and timeous merchandise analytics and reporting.
• Work closely with the planning team to adjust parameters on (Minimum presentation, Scheduling and Forecasting).
• Work Closely with the Store team to manage Minimum presentation update and cross merchandising weekly update 
• Ensure stock accuracy on negative stock, permanent inventory and action plan on alerts from planners 
• Conduct regular product analysis.
• Liaise effectively with the Head of Departments, Planners and Supply Chain.

• Profile
• The successful candidate should have the following skills, experience and attributes:
• Matric or NQF 4 Equivalent qualification 
• A Relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a retail Planning role
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• Highly knowledgeable on the full retail merchandise cycle
• Strong analytical ability with excellent numerical skills
• An entrepreneurial and commercial thinker with a strong trader mentality
• High attention to detail and performance and deadline orientation
• Strong ability to function in a high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills
• A self-motivated, solutions-oriented individual
