Deputy Director: Employee Health and Wellness at Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in psychology/social sciences (NQF7) or relevant qualification as recognized by SAQA. Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as Counsellor or Psychologist or South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Employee health and wellness of which three (3) years should be at an entry/junior managerial level (Assistant Director Level or equivalent).

Duties

• Coordinate the implementation of wellness management programmes. Implement the Health and Wellness strategic framework. Coordinate the implementation of assessment, counselling and referral services to all vulnerable employees. Analyse individual and group needs to identify psycho-social risks and recommend interventions and action plans. Coordinate the implementation of managerial training and other related life skills training for employees. Coordinate the annual review of wellness management policies. Coordinate the implementation of HIV and TB management programmes.
• Coordinate the implementation of Health and Productivity Management programmes. Coordinate the implementation of Health screens of employees. Coordinate the implementation of various health awareness and education activities according to the wellness schedule and health calendar. Coordinate the compilation of Employee Health and Wellness reports, manage the appointment, a of the and management and all processes relating to external EHW service providers.
