DevOps Manager at DigiOutsource

Your purpose is to define DevOps for us, and to ensure that as a company, we are not only adhering to modern DevOps practices, but actively defining them.

You will be responsible for:

• Ability to provide leadership and accountability for work the DevOps team undertakes
• Ability to mentor and develop team members
• Demonstrable experience applying modern DevOps principles
• Comfortable with fast changing and dynamic environments
• Provides leadership in DevOps strategy, operations, cost-optimization, innovation and efficiency improvement.
• Research new technologies to implement within the DevOps environment to improve the process of code deployment to our environments
• Experience architecting and delivering cloud-based CI/CD solutions (preferably Azure)
• Collaborates with IT/Development leadership in the planning and implementation of technology roadmaps.
• Drive the team to work in an Agile (Kanban) environment
• Sit in Development meetings at project inception to ensure standards set by DevOps are maintained, especially with respect to logging and monitoring of application health, compatibility with infrastructure design, security requirements, and compliance and best practices.
• Maintain knowledge of the inner workings of all applications within your relative portfolio, ensuring that all system dependencies are documented.
• Communicating DevOps strategies and roadmaps to stakeholders and directors
• Regular 1-2-1's and formal appraisals with team members
• Provide advice, coaching, and educational opportunities to the team

You will have:

• Proven experience leading a DevOps or SRE team
• The ability to learn and master new technologies rapidly. As technology changes, you will be required to move with the times and become a master in your own right.
• Experience using cloud technologies, preferably Azure
• Expert knowledge in private, public and hybrid cloud architecture, networking, workload types, migration patterns and tools
• Excellent knowledge and experience in building CI/CD
• Experience with containerization principles and frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to deliver presentations to large groups
• Proven track record adopting cloud within a large organisation / project
• Experience in working with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles

It would be a bonus if you also had:

• Previous experience in 24/7 High Performance Environment
• Proven hands on experience with Windows Server / Linux
• Knowledge of Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of Web and Application hosting environments (IIS, Windows Services or Nginx)
• Knowledge of logging technologies such as LogStash, Kibana, ElasticSearch, App Insights, Splunk
