DevOps Platform Manager at Vodafone Global Enterprise

Role Purpose

• The DevOps Platform Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of service intergration processes and tools to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery, maximizing the speed and quality of delivery across teams.  The role is responsible for automating build, release, deployment, and configuration activities.  The incumbent needs to work closely with software, QA, and systems engineers to understand requirements and prototype, architect, implement, operate and update DevOps solutions accordingly.  This role must be flexible to constant business and technology change, with the ability to interact, engineer, and communicate collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. The ability to manage a large team requires strong people management experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• The DevOps Platform Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of processes and tools to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery, maximizing the speed and quality of delivery across teams
• This role is responsible for automating build, release, deployment, and configuration activities
• This role is responsible for working closely with software, QA, and systems engineers to understand requirements and prototype, architect, implement, operate and update DevOps solutions accordingly
• This role must be flexible to constant business and technology change, with the ability to interact, engineer, and communicate collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong people management experience with prior knowledge of DevOps in large enterprise implementations. 

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Programming, or other related field is essential
• Five or more years of experience in programming and /or systems analysis applying agile frameworks
• At least three years of DevOps platform management in large delivery organizations
• Extensive Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying DevOps toolchains to support continuous integration and continuous delivery, using a variety of technologies and environments 
• Extensive experience with test-driven development, release management, agile methodologies, Unix, Linux, and Apache
• Extensive experience working with at least two or more programming languages (e.g. PHP, Java), virtualization (e.g. VMWare), database technologies (e.g. MySQL), and release and configuration management tools (e.g. Chef)
• Extensive experience working in cloud-native environments
• Experience working in a large agile environment, with multiple teams
• Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry is essential specifically in the Mediation space.
