Digital Product Owner - Cape Town at Rain South Africa

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for leading a team of business analysts and UX/ UI team to execute the product roadmap in highly collaborative working environment. You will be responsible for sharing the strategic vision, prioritizing the product backlog, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality features that align with business goals and customer needs. And report on the critical successes of the digital platforms

Ecommerce background with experience in first-principle design and multiple systems thinking like  Fintech, banking, logistics, payments experience will be a bonus.

Attention to is detail key as your team will be responsible for upholding rains product design language and customer experience journey. Implementing business knowledge and continuity processes for how rain launches/ maintains the products and services eco-system.

We are looking for someone who is up for challenge, high energy, commercially minded, customer focused, passionate, with technical know-how to ensure the product and tech team synergy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of responsible for executing the company’s product vision, roadmap. And growth opportunities for digital platforms (business analysts, UX & UI team)
• Collaborate across departments with multiple stakeholder teams to convey the strategic product vision, gather requirements and deliver the final product.
• Work closely with UI/UX designers to create intuitive and engaging user experiences that drive conversion and retention.
• Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product according to business objectives, customer feedback and market trends.
• Work with the development team to plan and coordinate releases, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with relevant parties.
• Communicate product updates, timelines, and priorities to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product improvements and innovation.
• Analyse website metrics, user behaviour, and customer feedback to identify areas for optimization and enhancement.
• Partner with marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches and feature releases.
• Work with the QA team to ensure the quality of deliverables meets high standards and is aligned with business requirements.
• Data-driven iterative product development: market research and customer engagement adjust development accordingly and solve for problems along our customer journey.
• Work closely with our Marketing, Data and Engineering teams to understand business performance and key opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (5+ years) as team leader of digital platforms.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications products and services, including mobile plans, internet services, and digital entertainment.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with web analytics tools & UX/ UI tools
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a track record of driving positive change within cross-functional teams.

The skills and experience we're looking for:

• Well-versed in core concepts related to UI/UX design.
• Systems experience
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and validating product hypotheses, and have proven success at identifying MVPs which transition to valuable and appealing products
