Activities
Know, respect and ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct.
Conduct direct tax compliance reviews and ensure adherence to regional tax regulations.
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize financial performance.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address tax-related inquiries.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
Manage and review all direct tax returns and payments accurately and timeously for submissions/payments to tax authorities.
Manage and review monthly current tax and deferred tax computations, tax journals for accuracy and timeous completion.
Manage and review timeous and accurate monthly reconciliation of all withholding taxes and direct tax accounts and tax disclosures to the Annual Financial Statements.
Manage annual update and submission of local file for compliance transfer pricing legal obligations.
Manage and review the Tax Asset Register to ensure correct treatment of asset purchases, disposals, scrapping and expensing.
Provide guidance and training to junior team members on direct tax matters.
Manage internal audits, external audits and revenue audits or investigations with tax authorities.
Analyze financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities.
Candidate Profile
Qualification level required for the position : Level 7 = Master’s or equivalent level
Technical skills required for the position : Corporate income tax, transfer pricing, tax accounting
Behavioral competencies required for the position : Management skills, negotiation skills, influential skills, researching, report writing
Language skills required for the position : English - Fluent (Speak and Writing)
Certification required for the position : Registered tax professional
Specific knowledge required for the position : Corporate income tax
Level of experience required for the position : A minimum of 6 - 8 years’ experience in Corporate Tax (Tax accounting, tax compliance, tax advice and SARS Controversy).
