    Director New Truck Sales

    Job Objectives:

    • To set appropriate objectives, initiate actions monitor performance and follow-up results for the sales organization.
    • Implement Volvo Trucks Southern Africa (VTSA) Commercial Sales initiated projects and national decided projects and plans.
    • Total- and Long-Term Volume Market Forecast.
    • Total Sales Volume Annually according to agreed plans.
    • Complete Price Realization in total and per product group.
    • Full ownership of total New Trucks profitability and per product group.
    • Customer Mix and Sales Channel development to optimize profitability and market share.
    • Market Share Development in accordance to short- and long term objectives defined.
    • To manage the Inventory and Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO).
    • Drive national customer accounts, incl. international customers being present in the market.
    • Implementation of decided price positioning and other applicable strategies.
    • Initiate and drive segmentation sales to optimize life cycle earning and to establish insight driven sales and value based selling arguments to increase total offer sales.
    • Secure correct competence level within Sales Organization through cooperation with other Volvo business units.
    • Joint responsibility for Customer Satisfaction for New Truck Vehicle issues, and to be the main sponsor of the Commercial Crew.
    • To manage and develop own department and use resources efficiently through a leadership driven by Volvo values, and to secure competence development.
    • To manage, develop and motivate staff within area of responsibility in accordance with Company policy and drive cross functional excellence from all stakeholders to achieve targets.
    • Contribute in a professional manner and engage in cross functional cooperation within Volvo Trucks South Africa to secure optimal success for the Company.
    • Motivating, developing and encouraging excellent performances to drive profitability.
    • Fully accept and demonstrate the complete range of managerial responsibilities and utilise appropriate Volvo tools to drive engagement and performance.

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Fully proficient when it comes to general understanding of the truck business and expert knowledge when it comes to business- and customer focus.
    • Committed and driven team-player with strong negotiation- and business-oriented skills at executive level to collaborate with different business functions.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders on different levels.
    • Structured and result oriented with in-depth knowledge with a very good human understanding and ability to build strong teams and employee- and customer relations.
    • Be able to drive volume, profit and sales targets through dedicated sales resources.
    • Engage in a cross-functionally work leveraging the knowledge and support available in all areas of Volvo Group Southern Africa and external partners to ensure high levels of dialogue, exchange of information and coordination between Service, Sales, Product, Business Control and Co-driving teams on an ongoing basis and as required.
    • Lead / drive market activities cross-functionally; product, Volvo Financial Service (VFS), superstructure, connected services, service market, marcom.
    • Contributes to Team, Department and Company effort by accomplishing related results and undertaking any requested job as needed.

    • Strong business decision making and problem solving skills.

    • Personal drive & learning agility.
    • Service-minded, ability to manage national and international stakeholders with a proactive approach.
    • Work in accordance with the Volvo Group processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Group Values.
    • Global exposure will be an advantage.
    • Fluent in English, written and spoken.
