    Director (Sedibeng Health Districts)

    Requirements :

    • Health-related or equivalent qualification at NQF level 7. Registration with relevant professions body. Five (5) years’ experience at Middle Management (Deputy Director) level in the Primary Health Care Management.
    • Minimum of 8 year’s appropriate experience at Primary Health Care environment will be an advantage. Computer Literacy. Valid driver’s licence. Sound knowledge of the Constitution of the RSA, Government Legislative Framework, Public Service legislative and policy framework, Government programs such as the District Health Plan. Be self-driven.
    • Applicants to be in possession of the following technical skill and competencies: Policy Development Information, Communication and Knowledge Management, Monitoring and Evaluation of Health Programmes, Infrastructure maintenance and support.
    • Project Management, Knowledge of prescripts related to NHI, Public Administration Management Act, Public Service Act, 1994, Public Service Regulations, PFMA. Problem solving, decision making, diversity management, Communication and Information management, interpersonal relations facilitation, negotiations, presentation, report writing and conflict management.
    • Competencies: Strategic capabilities and leadership, risk management, ethics management programme and management, financial management, change management, people management and empowerment.

    Duties :

    • The incumbent will be responsible for management of all Primary Health Care Facilities, Health Programmes, Public and Private Hospitals within the District in accordance with the relevant Legislative framework and delegations.
    • Prepare facilities for implementation of National Health Insurance. Develop guidelines and standards for improvement of health service delivery in accordance with relevant Legislative Framework and prescripts.
    • The management will include roll out of the delivery agreement between the Premier of Gauteng and the Member of the Executive Council for the Department of Health.
    • Coordination of comprehensive health care system in the district, both inter- and intra- district. Manage and improve the clinical performance of the district in terms of efficiency targets, mandates as well as laid down norms and standards. Coordinate strategic operations and transitional plans.
