Divisional Manager Local Economic Development Plannning and Economic Development at uMlalazi Municipality

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a National Diploma or B Com Degree in Business or Development Studies, Economics or equivalent qualification in Commerce and related field.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Drivers' License, Computer literacy (MS Office Applications), 8 years or more experience in the field of Local Economic Development of which 3 years must be at supervisory level, Sound understanding of legislation governing promotion of Local Development in government and transformation. Certificate in Municipal Finance Management and Local Government experience will be an added advantage.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Formulation of Local Economic Development related policies, strategies, programmes and plans for the unit in line with the Integrated Development Plan, facilitating the formulation of the Local Economic Development component of the Integrated Development Plan, coordinating and alignment of Local Economic Development programmes within the municipality across all spheres of government and other stakeholders, coordinating and facilitating of support to the SMME's Cooperatives and Informal Traders strategic planning for the unit, overall management of the performance of Local Economic Development Unit; overseeing the different programmes implemented by the Unit which include Tourism Development and Marketing, Agriculture, Heritage, Environment, Cooperatives, Small Medium and Micro Enterprise Development and Film Development, facilitating integration and coordination of Local Economic Development unit programme with that of the Development Agency.
