Driver/Mail Runner at AUDA - NEPAD

Required Skills and Competencies

1. Good knowledge of South African traffic rules and regulations, with familiarity with driving conditions and restrictions.
2. Good knowledge of the provinces of South Africa, with thorough familiarity with the layout of Johannesburg and Pretoria, as well as surrounding areas.
3.  Experience in operating navigation devices such as Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
4.  Ability to read road maps and road signs effectively and plan routes to unfamiliar destinations.
5. Experience in driving both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
6. Demonstrate a responsible, service-oriented attitude to work and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
7. High level of professional integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
8. Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with officials, passengers, and co-workers.
9. Experience working in a multicultural and multinational environment.
10. Strong attention to detail, particularly with regard to safety.
11. Ability to remain patient, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering assignments effectively.
12. Demonstrated knowledge of basic automotive inspection and maintenance procedures, including the ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and a working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems, as well as regulations governing safe driving.
13. Ability to sit and remain alert while driving for extended periods, up to an aggregate of eight (8) hours.

Education and Experience:

1. A High School certificate and at least a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of professional full-time chauffeur or driving experience, and an overall accident-free driving record for the past five years.
2. Have a valid Professional Driving Permit (Code 10). Experience in a diplomatic or international organization in South Africa will be a distinct advantage.
