    DTP Team Leader - Umhlanga

    Minimum requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years DTP workflow experience
    • Experience working with design software (Corel/Illustrator/Preps/Prinergy and Pit stop)
    • Experience working in a commercial print environment
    • Knowledge of print machinery
    • Competent in MS Office products

    Operations:

    • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of DTP operators and graphic designers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of print-ready files.
    • Oversee and assign DTP tasks, ensuring workload balance and meeting client deadlines.
    • Act as a point of contact for internal teams (sales, production, etc.) and clients, addressing any queries or adjustments related to design files or prepress processes.
    • Ensure all design files are formatted correctly for print production, adhering to print standards and client specifications.
    • Maintain the quality control process, ensuring all proofs are thoroughly reviewed and meet the highest standards.
    • Collaborate with the design team to provide creative direction and feedback, offering solutions to technical challenges.
    • Monitor and report on the team's performance, offering support and development opportunities to team members.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the prepress and DTP processes.
    • Implement and maintain the best practices for file management, archiving, and version control.
    • Oversee and ensure that all software, tools, and equipment are up to date and functional.
    • Support the training and development of new team members to maintain operational efficiency.
    • Keep up to date with industry trends and technologies to ensure the department’s capabilities remain competitive.
    • Understanding of dies, embossing, and foiling techniques.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong attention to detail, with a keen eye for quality and consistency.
    • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and offer practical solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels.
    • Ability to foster a positive, collaborative, and creative team environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
