    Education and Training Specialist

    Position Summary

Perfection is at the heart of what we do, and our people are always looking for the next big idea to cement our status. We’re now looking for an Education and Training Specialist in Estcourt. 

    The role is to drive current skills and capability development that has a direct and or indirect impact to unit's effectiveness and or loss reduction. To assist the unit in identifying and developing future competencies aligned to the business' future. To accurately manage and report on skills development. To facilitate training and to build capability for training facilitation.

    A day in the life an Education and Training Specialist:

    Capability Building and Loss Reduction:

    • Understand the unit's Operational Master Plan (OMP) and assist the unit to identify relevant competencies required to achieve current and future business results
    • Based on the unit loses, analyse the loses related to "man" and deploy relevant tools or methodologies to help reduce the losses
    • Ensure that the unit's standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials are updated, relevant and effective by doing line mapping and regular standard routines. Where not relevant and or effective guide on how to create effective SOPs and training materials.
    • Ensure that everyone in the unit has an updated Competence Development Plan (CDP) linked to their Job Success Profile (JSP), PDP or Competency Matrix (CM) by showing how to draw up CDP, CM and by doing regular skills audits within the unit.
    • Ensure that everyone identified as talent and in the Succession Plan (SP) has a development plan linked to their next identified position by engaging with the relevant line managers and identified talent and guiding them on how to create and execute the development plan.
    • Ensure alignment of unit's skills development plan to unit's Employment Equity (EE) targets by understanding the unit's Economically Active Population (EAP) targets, unit's succession plan and by actively participating in the unit's EE committee.

    Skills Development Management and Reporting:

    • Ensure accurate unit's Training Needs Analysis (TNA) / Training Plan / Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) by engaging with, coaching and guiding   line managers and employees on how to identify training needs and how to draw up effective training plans.
    • Consolidate and manage the units WSP, Training Budget, Annual Training Report (ATR) and ensure alignment between the WSP spend and the GL account by effectively managing the execution of training and by continuous engagement and alignment with the finance controller
    • Ensure on time submission of the unit's WSP, Training Budget, ATR and Generic Calculator (GC) to the Market Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) / Market E&T Specialist
    • Ensure adherence to Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Skills Development (SD) score by establishing and managing of accredited trainings including learnership, apprentices and interns, etc., by ensuring that the targeted spend on designated groups (AIC) is achieved and by accurately reporting training executed in the Generic Calculator (GC)
    • Ensure adherence to training Service Level Agreement (SLA) with all unit's service providers

    Training, Coaching and Building a Culture of Learning and Self-Learning:

    • Train and coach on the following in order to increase competence and build capability (trainers and coaches) within the unit: Education and Training (E&T) tools and methodologies, Everyday Coaching (EDC) Fundamentals, EDC awareness, Train the Trainer (TTT), Leadership Development (LDv), and Nestlé Corporate Business Principles (NCBP).
    • Create Purchase Requisitions (PR) and the Purchase Orders (PO) for all the trainings in preparation of the training to be provided by external service provider. After training ensure that the amount is correctly GR and that the amount is allocated to the correct GL / GR.
    •  Coordinate the logistics, planning and the execution of training unit the unit.
    • Load the trainings in units WSP into iLearn, i.e., Learner Management System (LMS), train employees on how to use iLearn and generate monthly reports from iLearn to ensure quality and effectiveness of the system.
    • Create and effectively manage a library or repository for all learning solutions within the unit
    • Actively drive and foster a culture of learning within the unit
    • Benchmark within Nestlé and externally in order to capture and deploy training best practices / good examples within the unit
    • Keep abreast of trends and changes within the Learning & Development (L&D) space and align unit's L&D strategy to the trends and changes

     What will make you successful?

    • Degree level education or equivalent (preferably in Human Sciences, i.e. HR Management or Industrial Psychology)
    • 5 years’ experience in Human Resource Management, or Training Management or as an Education and Training Pillar Leader Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience
    • Shopfloor experience, i.e., Factory or Distribution Centre
    • Experience in training needs analysis (WSP, Training Budget and Calendar)
    • Experience in skills development management (WSP, ATR, BBBEE)
    • Experience in training material creation
    • Experience in training facilitation (Facilitator and adult TTT Certificate)
    • Experience in coaching (Coaching Certificate)
    • Experience in assessment (Assessor Certificate)
    • Experience in implementing change in organizations (Change Management) Proficiency in English and language of the market (where applicable)
