BASIC  SALARY R 222 423.00 – R 277 776.36 per annum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 with N4 in Electrical Engineering;
• Line construction 11KV – 132KV OHL;
• 1 year’s relevant experience.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

• Assisting the Electrician with installations, repairs and maintenance;
• Pulling, routing and dressing cable through conduit and trays;
• Installing conduit, trunking, cable trays and support brackets;
• Chasing walls, drilling and mounting boxes, fittings and light fittings;
• Preparing and cleaning the work area before and after work;
• Fetching, carrying and organising materials, tools and equipment;
• Assisting with labelling, marking up and basic recording of the installation;
• Following lockout, isolation and permit procedures as instructed;
• Wearing protective equipment and observing electrical safety rules;
• Maintaining tools and reporting damaged or unsafe equipment;
• Reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to the electrician or supervisor;
• Working only within the limits of your competence and supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• High tension cable maintenance;
• Maintenance of high-tension overhead line;
• Maintenance of low-tension cable;
• Servicing transformers.
