Job Description

• Design and develop electronic systems for Proximity Detection Systems
• Develop embedded applications for microcontrollers / microprocessor in control systems
• Design Electronic applications – from schematic capture, PCB layout to test, planning and implementation to meet requirements, using good engineering practices
• Support and maintain existing product designs
• Develop component qualification processes for extreme environments
• Continually improve design methodology and development processes
• Define internal interfaces between parts of the electronics
• Consider system aspects that may affect the electronics, including noise and power distribution.
• Implement the design in hardware, firmware and soft ware
• Test the hardware and implement corrections as necessary
• Generate production data packs and product support documentation
• Maintain existing products in terms of soft ware changes, PCB updates, firmware changes and documentation
• Simulations of the design at various levels
• Assist production to deliver high quality product
• Derive requirements for the complex electronics
• Ensure external interfaces match the specification, including voltage level and timing.
• Program complex electronics
• Test the final hardware and implement corrections as necessary
• Perform system safety analyses and identify safety verifications required
• Identify if complex electronics can cause a hazard or are part of a hazard control
• Ensure that design errors in complex electronics are considered as a failure mode
• Assess tools used to design and implement complex electronics
• Review subsystem requirements for proper decomposition from system requirements

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering or similar

Skills

• 3-5 years experience
• Preference will be given to experience in Proximity Detection (PDS)/Collision Prevention Systems (CPS)
• Must be able to excel in a team of designers and independent enough to handle smaller projects alone
