    Employee Relations Manager

    The purpose of this position is to:

    • Design, develop and implement proactive labour relations’ policies, structures and procedures to enable effective management of disciplinary, incapacity, grievance, and other labour relations related matters.
    • Assess and mitigate the risks on all disciplinary, incapacity, appeal, grievance, and labour dispute matters.
    • Responsible for strategic and legal advice to management on labour related matters.
    • Ensure that issues raised by employees are resolved in a fair and equitable matter.
    • Review internal procedures in line with any legislative amendments and or practices with Bayport.
    • Up to date recording of labour related matters.
    • As and when required conduct or assist with internal or otherwise investigations related to employee relations.
    • Represent the Company at CCMA proceedings and assist with Labour Court cases.
    • Responsible for the formulation of HR related policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor Degree in Law or Human Resource Management with a specialization in labour relations.

    DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

    • Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Relations Management

    EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum 5 years related working experience in Human Resources with 2 years in a managerial capacity in Employee Relations functions.
    • Minimum 5 years related working experience in the Financial Industry.
    • Strong understanding of South African Employment Law, (BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHSA, SDA etc.).
    • Experience in managing the disciplinary enquiry process, CCMA cases, Retrenchments and other labour related issues
    • Experience in managing a team of employees
    • Ability to coach and guide the management team and employees on labour relations related matters
    • Problem solving skills

    DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to manage and ensure that the poor performance management process adheres to labour legislation
    • Strong analytical, drafting and presentation skills
    • Excellent command of both English and other African languages
    • Partnering with the Forensics Team in investigating employee related cases

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Proficient Computer Literacy (MS Office)
    • Good written and verbal communication (English)
