    IR Officer - Durban

    Minimum Requirements

    • South African citizen
    • Grade 12 certificate;
    • Clear criminal record;
    • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations or Labour Law;
    • Must reside in the greater Durban region;
    • Minimum 2 years related experience;
    • Driver’s license and own reliable vehicle;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English);
    • Knowledge of relevant labour legislation (BCEA & LRA);
    • Sound knowledge of HR best practices;
    • Strong communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills;
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with employees and management.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide overall administrative assistant to the Human Resources Manager;
    • Assist in administering the disciplinary request process through SEESA;
    • Escalate employee concerns, grievances, and workplace conflicts to the relevant line managers of the various business units;
    • Provide advice and guidance to employees and management on employee relations matters, policies, and procedures
    • Assist in ensuring wage recruitment processes with the relevant line managers of the various business units;
    • Assist in onboarding and off boarding off colleagues (terminations);
    • Assist line managers to attend s189 consultations;
    • Perform general administrative duties for the HR Office which may include filing;

    Employee Relations

    • Act as a point of contact for employees regarding workplace-related concerns, complaints, and grievances;
    • Assist in investigating and resolving employee disputes and conflicts;
    • Collaborate with the HR Manager and line managers of the various business units to address employee relations issues in a timely and fair manner;
