    EMS Station Manager Grade 3-6

    Salary :

    • Grade 3: R 413 199.00 -R 472 449.00;
    • Grade 4: R 499 311.00 - R570 570.00;
    • Grade 5: R584 604.00 - R631 551.00;
    • Grade 6: R649 260.00 - R 728 853.00 per annum

    Requirements:

    • Senior Certificate/ Grade 12 or equivalent qualification plus
    • Grade 3: Successful completion of an appropriate Intermediate Life Support (ILS) course that allows registration with the HPCSA ( Health Professional Council of South Africa) as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA).
    • Grade 4: Successful completion of HPCSA as Emergency Care Technician (ECT).
    • Grade 5: Successful completion 184 of an Critical Care Assistant (CCA) course or National Diploma course that allows registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic.
    • Grade 6: Successful completion of a Bachelors of Technology Degree that allows registration with the HPCSA as an Emergency Care Practitioner. A valid code 10 Divers license with Professional Drivers Permit (PrDP).

    Experience:

    • Grade 3: A minimum experience of three (3) years registration the HPCSA as a Ambulance Emergency Assistant coupled with compulsory exposure to managerial or supervisory line functions.
    • Grade 4: A minimum experience of three (3) years registration the HPCSA as a Emergency Care Technician coupled with compulsory exposure to managerial or supervisory line functions.
    • Grade 5: A minimum experience of three (3) years registration the HPCSA as a Paramedic coupled with compulsory exposure to managerial or supervisory line functions.
    • Grade 6: A minimum experience of three (3) years registration the HPCSA as a Emergency Care Practitioner coupled with compulsory exposure to managerial or supervisory line functions.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Knowledge of Supply Chain Policy and Financial Management. Be able to work under pressure and excessive hours. Be prepared to travel and attend to emergencies after hours.
    • 126 Knowledge of Labour Relations. Computer literacy. Good interpersonal skills, written, verbal and presentation skills. Accuracy and attention to details.

    Duties:

    • General Office Administration: Human Resource Management : Ensure completion of Staff Performance Agreements, Monitoring Staff Performance, Management of Shift Rosters, Management of Personnel Leave, Management of Staff Discipline and Conflict, Act as a role player in ensuring personnel training and education, overall supervision of personnel.
    • Financial Management: Management of personnel allowances (i.e standby, overtime etc), Management of employer assets (i.e vehicles and equipment including the allocations hereof).
    • Communication: Compile and completion of monthly reports and statistical data only a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
    • Liaison Functions: Assisting members of the public with enquiries and liaise with stakeholders on matters pertaining to Emergency Medical Services. Be responsible of all EMS activities in the Station. Provide advice on procedures and policy matters to staff and ensure compliance with all policies operating in the service. Ensure that fleet management is properly implemented to provide for the maintenance and repairs of vehicles in accordance with transport policy. Ensure the control and have an inventory of all resources at the Station. Be responsible for occupational health and safety at the station. Respond to all major incidents to assist and co-ordinate such incidents within the operational area. Including rescue responses, outstanding calls when necessary and attend debrief meetings. Investigate service complaints received from internal and external resources and report on these complaint to the Sub-District Manager. Effective Emergency Medical Service Management.
    • Management of an EMS Division: Incident Management, management of search and rescue structures, medical rescue management.
