Senior Certificate. Successful completion of the ECT program course that allow registration with the HPCSA as ECT or successful completion of the CCA course or National Diploma that allows registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic. Current registration with Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an ECT or CCA.
Experience:
Grade 2: 3 years after registration with the HPCSA a ECT.
Grade 3: 3 years after registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic. Knowledge of ECT or CCA Protocols. Valid Code 10 (C1) Driver's license and PrDP.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of EMS regulations and other related policies. Knowledge of health-related Acts, Regulations and Guidelines. Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing Public Service including the Skills Development Act. Good communication, report writing, facilitation, co-ordination, liaison, interpersonal, leadership, analytical, planning and organizing and change.
Duties:
Ensure the provision of pre-hospital Emergency Care Service. Cost-effective and efficient management of the sub district, Implementation of Incident Management, Management Search and Rescue major incidents, management of policy monitoring, financial management and budgeting for a Stations.
Situational report of incidents within the sub district, implementing operational plans, manage emergency vehicle fleets. Ensure the stations in the sub district meet the required response and turnaround times. Monitor the utilization of Emergency vehicles and Equipment are conducted according to EMS policy and procedures, Accident reporting, submission of documents, Disciplinary investigation, Investigation of cases involving fuel card fraud, Inputs on vehicle design, ensure regularly services and maintenance of fleet, ensure adequate stock for EMS vehicles. Ensure vehicle disinfection, Inspection of vehicle roadworthiness and equipment status. Manage Resource (Human, Financial and Physical) with the EMS statins in the sub district.
Evaluation of personnel performance. Planning sub district activities, maintain in-service training. Implementation of policies. Handling staff deployment, leave management. Manage the shift rosters, ensure all personnel maintain up-to-date professional registration, manage sub-district budgets, track expenditures and ensure the continuous availability of medical supplies and equipment. Manage, monitor & report quality control and administration, investigates patient complaints, tracking clinical outcomes, enforcing compliance with clinical protocols and National Health Act. Develop and monitor disaster management policies as well as coordinate medical services for local mass gathering events, collaborate with hospitals, local clinics and other government authorities to optimize emergency medical services in the district.
