Reddam House Waterfall College is seeking a passionate and committed English Home Language Teacher to join our team from April 2026. The successful candidate will teach Grades 10, 11 and 12, delivering engaging lessons and contributing to a high-performance academic culture within our College.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons.
Establish a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that promotes active engagement.
Uphold professional standards in punctuality, conduct, student management and lesson preparation.
Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
Provide academic support on two afternoons per week and assist with two afternoons of co-curricular activities.
Produce high-quality learning resources.
Attend school events as required by the relevant Head.
Set and mark examinations and all student assessments.
Write detailed and constructive report comments.
Undertake any reasonable additional tasks as directed by the School Head or line manager.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Proven ability to set clear expectations and stretch students to achieve their potential.
Adaptable teaching style informed by feedback and reflective practice.
Strong subject knowledge in English Home Language.
Ability to evaluate learning effectiveness and adjust teaching accordingly.
Skill in assessing student outcomes and providing meaningful feedback.
Genuine care for student wellbeing and development.
Confidence using IT within teaching and learning.
Proven experience teaching English (IEB experience advantageous).
A minimum of four years’ experience (advantageous).
Relevant university qualification and certified teaching status (SACE registered).
Strong organisational skills, professionalism, and a positive attitude toward change.
A demonstrable passion for teaching and commitment to student progress.
