Environmental Officer: Specialised Production (Environmental Empowerment services)
National Senior Certificate plus a relevant Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, Nature Conservation, Environmental Law, or a related qualification.
Experience: As per OSD requirements; however, 1–2 years of relevant experience will be an added advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
Sound knowledge of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA).
Familiarity with the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, and National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act (NEMBA).
Computer literacy and strong administrative skills.
Good writing and communication skills.
DUTIES:
Participate in the implementation of environmental education programmes to support the integration of environmental education into formal education structures (schools, SETAs, ABET, higher education institutions, etc.).
Implement environmental capacity-building programmes for the general public and relevant stakeholders.
Promote and implement environmental awareness programmes within communities.
Perform and manage administrative and related functions as required.
