Degree/Diploma in Environmental Management qualification or equivalent
ISO 14001:2015
ISO 45001:2018
3 years’ experience in a similar role within the Chemical / Petrochemical industry
Duties and Responsibilities
Implement ISO 14001 and responsible care across all designated sites in accordance with the business systems strategies
Collate information for EMS management review
Conduct duty of care audits and follow-up on the closure of the nonconformances raised
Investigate the environmental incidents as they occur, with the view of preventing recurrence
Develop, implement, and monitor the integrated environmental improvement plans (IEMP) for the business
Controls and maintains Environmental records – SDC’s, waste invoices, permits, licenses
Provide the required compliance reports to government institutions as required by the legislation and municipal bi-laws.
Liaise with regulatory bodies to achieve/maintain compliance e.g. GDARD, eThekwini Municipality, DWS, DEA etc., with reference to site’ environmental licenses.
AEL accounting officer for the organization, responsible for annual reporting in terms of the local government requirements, SAGERS and NAEIS
Participates in Berth and site walkabouts with TNPA
Participates in any special strategic projects as and when required
Links legal requirements to company activities. Coordinates legal compliance audits for the region.
Monitoring of storm water and effluent drainage. Ensuring that samples of storm water and effluent are taken and sent to the lab for testing as well as reconciling results
