    VIS Director

    Job Description

    • Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.  VCA's core client segments include issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, payment enablers and governments.
    • Within VCA exists VCA Implementation Services (VIS), a hands-on execution partner, implementing, operating, and optimizing Visa products in client environments to accelerate activation, portfolio growth, risk control, and data-driven performance.
    • The Visa Implementation Services (VIS) Consulting Director will be a key member of the Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) organization, working across Southern Eastern Africa and Western Central Africa and will contribute to the commercial traction, client delivery, business development, product development and thought leadership with the VIS practice areas. The role will also deliver subject matter expertise and consulting support to VISA's key clients across the subregions. The main objective of the role is to define and execute against VIS’s mandate, further deepening client relationships and optimizing client performance

    Principal Responsibilities/Key Results Area

    • Lead and/or serve as a subject matter expert on consulting engagements across practice areas (portfolio, digital, risk) including but not limited to the following,
    • Using VISA and external data to analyze client needs across the focus markets and identify opportunities for VIS assignments with VISA’s key clients
    • Lead, Support and contribute to sales pitches for VIS
    • Lead and contribute to internal problem-solving sessions
    • Prepare for, and participate in, client discussions
    • Lead project deliveries in both coordination and delivery role
    • Standup and manage large VCA programs for Pan African clients focused on VIS workstreams
    • Work closely with other VISA groups, including Products, BD, Risk, Marketing, Digital Solutions, etc., to ensure a seamless Consulting experience
    • Develop VIS’s offering and tailored solutions in line with client needs by proactively identifying collaboration opportunities and developing integrated go-to-market strategies in partnership with internal stakeholders (e.g., Value-Added Services, Client Services, etc.) to drive unified business objective
    • Collaborate with VCA colleagues, Visa account executives and other Visa functions to define focus areas, and cultivate and manage a pipeline of engagement opportunities

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
    • 15+ years of experience in consulting and implementation support with Financial institutes, merchants, and/or government
    • depth understanding of card operations and portfolio management
    • Combination of regional and global experience is also desired

    VAS Sales - Data & Risk, SSA

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Solutions Sales Specialist specializing in Fraud Risk and Cyber Security Sales. The ideal candidate will have significant experience within the b2b sales in tech industry and be able to understand and navigate the unique challenges brought forward by evolving payments ecosystem.
    • This role of the Sr. Solutions Sales Specialist will report into the regional portfolio leads and will be part of the larger Value-Added Services Sales function. Internally, the role requires collaboration with a wide range of cross functional teams, including but is not limited to Generalist Sellers, Sales Operations, Strategy, Client Services, Digital Partnerships, Risk, Consulting & Advisory, and Marketing. Moderate to extensive travel is required for attendance of client and partner meetings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Actively prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities within assigned territory.
    • Identify high potential issuing clients to target and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers within these organizations.
    • Ensure high levels of client/ prospect satisfaction through proactive outreach with relevant insights and regular follow-ups.
    • Partner with the Generalist Sales team to prepare proposals, presentations, and other sales materials that highlight Visa solutions' technical capabilities and advantages to address client needs.

    Essential Functions:

    • Accountable in driving and achieving bookings across Value Added Services portfolios and revenue lines through collaboration and partnership with Account Executives and Account Managers through acquisition of net-new customers or upsell of existing clients.
    • Acquisition of new clients and retention/ growth of existing clients.
    • Understand clients’ complex challenges/ problems and uses of Visa technology to drive solutions with said technology.
    • Champion and lead from the front with Visa’s value-based sales methodology, post-sale commercialization, mutual success planning with clients and across Visa to ensure client outcomes and Visa revenue realization.
    • Partner with the sales team to prepare proposals, presentations, and other sales materials that highlight our solutions' technical capabilities and advantages.
    • Engage with internal cross functional teams including Product Management, Product Development, Client Support and Product Marketing to relay market feedback and provide input into the design of new solutions.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
    • Proven track record in b2b sales role in tech industry or related role.
    • Proficient in Fraud prevention and financial crimes solutions, understanding of the baking ecosystem including credit decisioning, fraud decisioning and AML 
    • Deep knowledge and extensive experience in financial services is preferred
    • Proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles and manage large, complex deal negotiations with strategic clients.
    • Strong understanding of the payment’s ecosystem, specifically issuer side needs, including key players, competition, and trends.
    • Experience in selling Enterprise Software and SaaS solutions to enterprise clients in the payments sector 
    • Experience in working with Pan Africana and multi-national organizations in and outside of South Africa
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to travel extensively.
    • Work independently as well as collaborate within a team environment.

    Senior Managing Counsel

    What a Sr. Managing Counsel, Head of Legal does at Visa

    • This is a role to manage the Legal function in fast growing, complicated and important markets of Southern and Eastern Africa (SEA) sub-region within Visa CEMEA. The position will report directly to Visa’s SVP and Chief Counsel of CEMEA Region, as well have a soft line reporting to the Group Country Manager for SEA. This job requires an experienced commercial and payments technology lawyer to deal with varied and complicated issues SEA sub-region has.
    • The role includes helping to support the GCM for SEA in all aspects of day-to-day Visa business, including full compliance with local laws and regulations, antitrust advice, new payment flows, the core business, and all commercial and legal aspects of Visa investments in the sub-region. It also includes taking accountability and management for the sub-region for the SVP and Chief Counsel of Visa CEMEA and being the go-to, commercial and credible adviser for the GCM and the Heads of Functions in the sub-region. Further, there will be an expanded development and integration of the local legal teams, integrating and further upskilling them to meet the new challenges as Visa pivots its business to the changes in the sub-region.
    • The applicant must therefore be able to manage multiple market priorities in a fast-paced and challenging, but rewarding environment. Be a strong negotiator with strong influencing skills, experienced at managing and helping clients and more junior lawyers, including with regards to best practices, terms and approaches in transactions.

    In this role, you are expected to:

    • Work and provide leadership in all Legal matters for SEA Leadership Team, to understand, achieve and meet their key business objectives
    • Draft, negotiate and drive to completion, complex commercial, and strategic partnership agreements that achieve GCM’s business objectives
    • Maintain a zero-tolerance legal environment for compliance process, and work closely with Compliance and 2nd line defense colleagues to ensure the business environment remains a legally compliance one. To be prepared to escalate to Chief
    • Counsel of CEMEA Region and General Counsel, as required, where there are concerns and problems
    • Provide Legal leadership including counselling and advice to business teams regarding all aspects of legal and contractual structures and best practice approaches to addressing all legal issues
    • Provide leadership and strategic counselling and guidance of SEA markets to Visa’s sub-regional, regional and global colleagues, and take a leadership role in resolving regional and local issues, including to achieve consistency on approaches and issues by Visa
    • Manage an expanded Legal team in SEA
    • Lead, initiate and help drive process and efficiency improvements across the Legal team generally
    • To be the SME to Chief Counsel and General Counsel for all SEA markets matters
    • Role to be located in Visa’s office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

    • We are looking for a strong leader who can bring a breadth of experience and knowledge to our business. As a candidate, you should have:
    • Law degree and qualification which allows for in house practice in South Africa
    • Minimum 15+ years PQE with an international law firm and/or a multinational organization
    • Experience in banking, FinTech, information technology and payment industry
    • Experience working in a US/multinational/ highly matrix organisation is preferred
    • Transactional background with significant experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of complex commercial agreements
    • Credible team leadership skills
    • Professional manner and executive presence for dealing with all levels of the business from EVP to Analyst
    • Have significant experience guiding and working directly with executive management, and the leadership teams
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong team building skills
    • Self-motivated and very importantly, be collaborative and a strong team player
    • Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization to implement projects
    • Fluency in English (both written and verbal) as English is the business language of
    • Visa, plus literacy in other languages of the sub-regions would be advantageous (but not essential).
