    Events Specialist (Fixed-Term Contract)

    • We are looking for an experienced Events Specialist to support the growth of our events business by identifying new opportunities, securing venues, and delivering high-quality client experiences. The ideal candidate is well networked within the events industry, confident in sales, and able to leverage relationships to promote and grow our events portfolio. This role requires someone who is proactive, organised, and able to manage both sales and operational responsibilities effectively.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities within the events space. 
    • Secure venues and manage partner relationships for event marketing opportunities. 
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies for events on digital and traditional platforms. 
    • Support event planning and execution to ensure operational excellence.
    • Build and maintain strong industry relationships, representing the company at industry events and forums. 
    • Track and report on revenue, pipeline progress, client acquisition, and satisfaction metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.

    Skills and Competencies    

    • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
    • Marketing and brand-promotion capability across digital and traditional platforms.
    • Proven ability to plan and execute events end-to-end.
    • Excellent organisational and project-management skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and event-management tools.
    • Strong numerical ability and Excel proficiency for quotations and costings.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building capability.
    • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and meet deadlines.

    Qualifications    

    • Post-matric qualification in Events, Marketing or Hospitality
    • 3–5 years’ experience in events, sales, marketing or venue-related work
    • Strong exposure to the events industry, including venues and suppliers
    • Proficient in Excel and MS Office, with strong communication skills
