What you will be working on

• The Sample Platform team enables Zappi to scale by leveraging automation to help our customers reach their intended audiences, in the time frames that they demand, and at reasonable costs.
• The team has been remote-first since inception, with team members currently based out of Cape Town, and London. The team operates in a data-driven environment and strives for continuous improvement.
• You will work on a platform, built in Ruby/Rails and React that handles traffic 24/7 at medium scale, with over 1 million monthly sessions, and requires no-downtime deployments. The team solves a number of challenges centred around prediction, optimization, and automation of manual processes, in addition to building and maintaining a number of API integrations with external partners.
• The ideal person is one who is passionately curious, and willing to learn what’s needed to solve difficult problems, digging deep into the data, and following assumptions and leads right through to the end. The domain also lends itself to someone who is data driven, with a reasonable understanding of maths and statistics. (Some of the prediction problems often require thought development and experimentation outside of the platform codebase).
• The team and engineering function practices continuous integration and deploys to production multiple times per day, on an auto-scaling Kubernetes cluster running on AWS.

Requirements

• You will need to be able to demonstrate characteristics of a senior engineer (this is generally more than 4 years experience)

• You are able to demonstrate how you add value to a team as a senior engineer, and what you expect from a high performing team

• You have transferable technical experience. We don’t need deep expertise in our tech stack if you can demonstrate your ability to learn new technologies

• You have the right to work in the location advertised or in any of our supported remote working countries
