Expression Of Interest: Information Specialist - Port Elizabeth at ADvTECH

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS JOB:

Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Information Centre in order to optimally support the Teaching and Learning at the Brand.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Output

• Manages the day-to-day activities of the Information Centre in an academic environment
• Prepares reports related to the Information Centre and information services & develops and maintains a hybrid information collection
• Interactive training sessions for students and lecturers on how to use the Information Centre databases to enable them to do research and access the information required
• Monitors the performance of all functions of Information Centre automated  Information Centre systems

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7) in Library and Information Science or B.Bibl Degree.
• Honours  Degree (NQF Level 8)  or Master's Degree (NQF Level 9) in Library and Information Studies. An English major will be an advantage.(Ideal)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

• 2- 3 years library/Information Centre experience in an Academic Library
• Research Assistance experience will be advantageous
