A Bachelor’s degree in Traffic/Metro Police/Policing/Law degree or equivalent
Registered as an Assessor/Moderator with SASSETA for the Traffic
Qualification unit standard 62289
4 years relevant experience as a Facilitator/Lecturer
A valid driver’s licence
Willing to be exposed to all weather and conditions associated with training, including but not limited to noise, smoke and long periods standing/walking
No criminal record or pending cases
Additional Preferred Requirements:
Basic Traffic Officer qualification
4 years relevant experience within a law enforcement environment
Field Training Officer background
Key Performance Areas
Plan and execute basic and functional law enforcement training within the Safety and Security directorate
Design integrated assessment plans for learning programmes and facilitate learning by using a variety of standard approved methodologies
Prepare accredited lesson plans in terms of set criteria
Facilitate approved set Unit Standards to learners in respect of knowledge-based units and specific elective learning units
Assess learner competencies in relation to theoretical and practical exercises and all evidence
Prepare learners for assessment
Invigilate during formative and summative assessments
Assess learner Portfolio of Evidence files
Communicate professional knowledge in relation to training of learners and line management
Handle routine administrative tasks in relation to the training function
