The Facilities Manager is responsible for the effective delivery of facilities and administration services for all building users including staff, visitors, clients and audience. This tole will be primarily looking after the 2 main commercial properties for KCS South Africa. These will include both offices in Johannesburg, and an office in Stellenbosch.
The Facilities Manager will ensure consistent service delivery to internal stakeholders. Taking full ownership of facilities process development and management while also being responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the buildings, ensuring that they meet health and safety standards, as well as being legally compliant.
You will also manage the cleaning, waste disposal, catering, security and parking facilities at all sites, while effectively managing the budgets as well as record keeping on all payments and 3rd party services and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the overall services provided within the facility
Create a suitable environment for the purpose and needs of the office
Use best business practices to manage and reduce operation costs
Create a budget for various facility needs and expenses
Compare costs for various services and goods before choosing the best options for the facility
Manage the maintenance of the building by performing repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed
Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance
Keep the surrounding grounds properly cared for and landscaped
Handle certain administrative tasks, such as preparing reports for business owners
Ensure the security of the building by researching and implementing various security measures, such as surveillance cameras or security staff members
Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility
Carrying out other such duties reasonably falling within the scope of the role, as may be required by the company
Key Requirements:
At least a bachelor's degree in business management, facilities management, or a related field
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Time-management skills
Familiarity with building upkeep, structural issues, and grounds maintenance
