Field Service Technician at Komatsu Mining

Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

• Maintain / repair Joy equipment;
• Conduct daily pre-maintenance and inspections;
• Customer support in terms of safety, breakdowns, coaching and to achieve lowest cost per ton;
• Drive productivity improvement and quality work performance;
• Uphold safety standards and good housekeeping;
• Conduct frequent needs analysis within Mine sections to identify gaps and opportunities for optimization;
• Travel between Mines for maintenance / repairs;
• Provide technical support to other Field Service Technicians and Customer;
• Write clear reports.

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Skills and experience required

• Grade 12 / N3;
• Fully qualified Millwright with Flameproof and Gas Testing certificates;
• Joy relevant courses will be an advantage;
• Must be computer and database literate (MS Office package)
• Minimum of 05 years’ experience on underground equipment;
• JNA I and JNA II and VFD experience is crucial;
• DC & AC shuttle cars experience will be an advantage;
• Faceboss 2 experience will be an advantage;
• High level knowledge and experience of Joy and Stamler equipment and Fletcher;
• Experience in workshop assembly and manufacturing techniques will be beneficial;
• Must have own reliable transport and valid driver’s license;
• Must be willing to work FULCO shifts, standby’s and abnormal hours at times;
• Must be available outside normal working hours as and when required;
• Must be willing to travel long distances where applicable (Surface and Underground);
