OVERALL PURPOSE
This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit Finance team working in a fast-paced fintech environment where you will get your hands dirty in a broad range of finance related tasks. We’re looking for a detail-oriented finance whizz who takes pride in their work and has extensive knowledge about IFRS and financial services. The position will report to the Head of Finance, and will play an important role in the overall reporting, corporate governance and internal controls for Lulalend. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of making sure we comply with auditors, controls and reporting to our stakeholders.
Not only will you play a key role within the Finance team, but your skills will be required to help support cross-functional teams such as our Sales, Tech, and Talent Teams. You’ll also get involved in exciting work such as funding raises and ensuring our loan management systems is performing optimally.
Responsibilities will include:
Guide development for IFRS accounting and disclosure
Prepare and submit reporting templates to shareholders and debt funders
Managing covenant reporting and legal agreement interpretations
All tax compliance and SARS submissions or queries
Monitoring of budget variance on a monthly basis
Assist setting up internal control frameworks within finance
Statutory audit
Payroll review
Due diligence ownership achieved through partnering with different business units
Review and post all entries into Xero
Drive initiatives to improve existing automation and streamlining of recording and reporting
Project Work (ad hoc):
Being a finance business partner that provides financial information, tools, analysis and insight to other business units, challenging their thinking, helping them make more informed decisions and driving business strategy.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
CA (SA) qualification with 2-4 years’ experience working as a financial manager
Experience within and exposure to a fast-paced financial services environment
Extensive financial reporting experience coupled with sounds compliance handling
Skilled in Xero accounting or similar
Advanced Excel skills, SQL expertise an added bonus
Start-up experience for growth and unit economics understanding
Well-read within the financial industry and should be au fait with up and coming financial trends and legislation
