    Finance Manager

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and coordinates the financial and accounting activities of Chipkins Puratos.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Manage (direct co-ordinate and control) the financial activities of the allocated branches (Longmeadow)
    • Review and authorise (sign-off) of cashbook and monthly bank statements.
    • Review and authorise (sign-off) accounts payable (creditors) schedule and authorise cheque payments to creditors.
    • Maintain Fixed Assets Register.
    • Control & oversee stock counts and variance analysis
    • Prepare financial reports.
    • Processing of monthly journals
    • Prepare income statement and balance sheet (referred to as The Pack).
    • Submit income statement forecast (Flash).
    • Prepare annual financial statement budget
    • Prepare monthly & quarterly reports on business unit performance.
    • Prepare ad-hoc reports.
    • Oversee annual financial year-end audit.
    • Prepare required input for audits.
    • Liaise with auditors to set-up year-end financial audit.
    • Furnish auditors with all relevant information for audit.
    • Assist with the formulation of the business unit strategic plan by providing relevant financial information.
    • Oversee the preparation of departmental budgets.
    • Prepare and present long range profit forecasts and budgets.
    • Assist with the preparation (draft) and implementation of the business unit strategic plan.
    • Conduct risk management function
    • Establish internal financial monitoring and control procedures, mechanisms, and systems. Includes monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bi-annual asset verifications.
    • Evaluate efficiency of budgetary and accounting strategies, polices, and plans in consultations with other managers.
    • Perform other duties as per operational requirements.

    JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric (Grade 12) and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant qualification.
    • 5 years’ experience in an accounting and management accounting environment; 3 years’ experience in a financial management position is preferable.
    • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Syspro knowledge preferable
    • Interpersonal skills; communicating with management and staff at all levels; resolve conflicts and negotiate with others; establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
    • Make decisions and solves problems, analysing data or information.
    • Written comprehension – the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Good communication skills - English is a prerequisite.
    • Ability to read and write in English and any other language(s)
    • Good personality, hardworking, teamwork, service orientated, creative, innovative, trustworthy, open to learn from feedback.
    • Willingness to travel for branch visits/stock takes.
