Financial Accountant at RCL Foods

RCL FOODS is currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Finance team in Malelane. The role reports into the Finance Executive and the following entities form part of the portfolio: RCL Foods Sugar & Milling – Agriculture Division, Libuyile Farming Services (Pty) Ltd, Mgubho Farming Services (Pty) Ltd and Sivunosetfu (Pty) Ltd

The Financial Accountant is relied upon to provide the overall financial management, maintenance of the general ledger, reporting and financial accounting functions, cash flow management and tax compliance in relation to RCL FOODS Sugar’s Agricultural divisions and its Joint Venture partners.

Minimum Requirements:

• CA (SA) with at least 1 - 2 years post article working experience.
• Technical knowledge of IFRS and its practical application.
• Sound financial accounting experience.
• Advanced MS Excel and working experience on SAP.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Manage the overall financial management of the Agric companies, including cash-flow management, asset and stock management and cost control measures.
• Perform and active role in strategic planning, business planning and forecasting process.
• Application of financial policies and procedures and monitor adherence thereto.
• Compile annual financial statements and perform income tax computations and schedules to the ITR14 return.
• Prepare monthly management reports, review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, journal entries and take corrective actions where necessary.
• Provide support to external and internal audit teams to maintain financial and control objectives.
• Debtors management and reporting.
• Review of biological asset fair value calculations in terms of IFRS.
• Management of lease agreements and lease accounting.
• Management and coordination of external audit teams and audit.
• Monitoring and reporting on funding limits and produce monthly dashboard reports.
• Represent Finance at Agricultural management meetings.
• Management of ad-hoc finance projects, tasks and ad-hoc requests.
• Ensure the career development of direct reports in line with company’s policies and procedures.
