Financial Controller - Midrand at Siemens

Role Headline

• As Financial controller you will be responsible for the management and completion of commercial/ financial tasks in our SW project environment, and you will contribute actively to the reporting and controlling requirements of the Business Unit GSW.
• You will join a young and dynamic team where you will play a key role in close collaboration with the local project team, BU Financial Manager, and all other stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the Role

• You will support the Project Manager and ensure that the financial results are managed according to set targets and with due professional care. Optimization of the project gross profit, cash flow and assets and financing instruments. Ensures all related project reporting and controlling activities.
• Ensures the accuracy of project books and records, including recording of such in the appropriate systems, e.g., SAP - ensures compliance with Siemens-Financial Guidelines plus the local accounting requirements supported by the available financial experts.
• Supports the project and sales teams in identifying, evaluating risk and opportunities and strategies – taking over the full assessment of all commercial and contractual requirements of projects and/or new opportunities.
• You will represent the projects in the relevant decision boards internally and externally.

Consolidates budgets, including top-down and bottom-up plans, and proceeds with periodic forecasts during the year for the BU management.

• Performs comparisons Actual vs. Plan on all business KPI’s and pursues effects of agreed measures and provides regular business reports.
• Performs evaluation of P&L and balance sheet items and manages improvement measures on a regular term.
• Ensures compliance with Business Conduct Guidelines and LoA guidelines for all commercial aspects.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent)
• 5-7 years professional experience in various commercial or controlling functions1.
• Solid understanding of accounting and controlling tools and practices
• Contract management experience preferred (NEC3/Fidic)
• Experience on C-level Projects is a plus, ideally including the related CPM certification.
