Financial Controller at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Competence Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant
• 2 years post qualifying experience
• Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of IFRS
• Experience as a Big 4 audit firm manager or in a financial consolidation role
• Expert technical/ accounting base
• Understanding of complex consolidations and transactions
• Good communicator, interactive and team orientated
• Attention to detail, reliant under pressure and deadline driven
• Ability to develop strong working relationships across borders

Output and Accountabilities

• Consolidation and reporting of Africa division's financial performance
• Ensure accurate consolidation of monthly, quarterly and annual results within group specified deadlines
• Reviewing and raising queries on monthly performance of their geographic operations
• Primary contact for queries from Global control
• Ensure compliance with IFRS
• Compile reporting required for associates
• Development and maintenance of Africa division financial reporting timetable
• Maintaining records of interval controls that are applicable to the zone
• Ensuring that the reporting aspects of the Finance Excellence Program is adhered to
• Training, advice and support to operations on reporting systems
• Oversee financial matters of the Africa holding companies
• Ownership of the overall Brand Profitability submission
• Assistance with ad hoc analysis of the region
• Provide technical accounting advice
