Financial Internal Auditor Specialist at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To provide a specialised financial auditing professional consulting service by providing a reliable, value added and independent technical auditing assurance function for eThekwini Municipality over the effectiveness of controls mitigating current and evolving high risks and in so doing enhance the controls of the organisation with specific reference to Treasury and Financial operations.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Implements audit programmes and projects, focusing on financial / technical / Treasury activities.
• Provide specialist financial auditing input for positive contribution to clean audit mandate and compliance with the standards.
• Contributes specialist financial auditing requirements in implementing financial auditing projects aligned with the combined assurance audit programme.
• Disseminates functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long term objectives and current applications and constraints.
• Provides specialist financial auditing contribution to the administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the financial auditing remit.
• Contributes to knowledge management and document control systems (continuity and business recovery process) of the financial remit of Internal Audit.

Essential Requirements    

• Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Accounting or Auditing.
• 3 years SAICA accredited articles.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 6 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements    

• Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Financial Accounting or Auditing.
• Registration with the relevant professional body.
• 7 Years relevant experience.
