Fleet Controller at Vaal Central Water

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for coordinating the repairs & maintenance of the fleet of Vaal Central Water.
• Ensure fleet repairs & maintenance quotations are aligned with industry standards (RMI)
• Ensure all warranties on repairs & maintenance are enforced.
• Submit monthly fleet maintenance & repairs reports such as vehicle downtime report, fleet breakdowns report, fleet high level technical report, fleet preventative and corrective maintenance reports and fleet inspection reports.
• Ensure that all fleet maintenance turndowns have been captured on the fleet maintenance register.
• Ensure that the fleet legal compliance register is updated and monitored for annual (COF’s and Load tests) testing certificates provision.
• Ensure organizational compliance with the Fleet preventative maintenance schedule and submit accurate monthly utilization reports.
• To be compliant with all relevant policies and legislative framework for optimal usage of fuel by pool drivers.
• Conduct daily fleet tracking and respond to fleet alarms on a daily basis.
• Ensure all vehicles tracking health checks are performed on a weekly basis
• Ensure that quarterly fleet inspections are conducted and submit monthly reports of fleet usage.
• Assist with the annual fleet disposal of redundant and end of cycle fleet.
• Provide technical advice on vehicle performance and assist with budgeting for the purchasing of new vehicles.
• Report accidents and provide quotations to Asset Management within 15 days of receipt.
• Develop the contingency plan for alternative arrangements in case of transport-related emergencies.
• Observe Health & Safety protocols and ensure compliance.
• Perform all other relevant assignments as directed from time to time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Diesel and Petrol Mechanical Red Seal certificate
• 5 years’ relevant experience in petrol and diesel mechanical repairs.
• 5 years’ Fleet Assessor experience.
• Computer Proficiency.
• Report Writing.
• Valid Drivers’ License.
