    Food Safety & QC Manager

    Job Requirements

    Quality Management

    • Develop Food Safety-related policies and procedures in line with best practice
    • Interpret, implement and maintain QA & Food Safety system standards
    • Evaluate adequacy of Food Safety-related standards throughout the company
    • Devise procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
    • Review the implementation and efficiency of internal and external quality and inspection systems
    • Collect statistical Food Safety system or quality data from Internal and External Audits
    • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the Food Safety & Quality system
    • Compile and implement strategies and action plans to maintain and improve the system
    • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality and Food Safety-related activities

    People Management

    • Using various interventions, ensure communication and buy-in of the quality and Food Safety system objectives
    • Identify training needs on on-going basis and through GMP and system audits, and organize training interventions to meet quality and Food Safety standards
    • Co-ordinate PRP Training to ensure GMP’s maintained and improved throughout the factory in accordance with best practice
    • Oversee the Quality Monitoring team to ensure adequate inspection of practice and procedural adherence to the Quality and Food Safety Management System

    Product Management

    • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and Food Safety regulatory requirements in terms of practice, procedure and product quality
    • Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
    • Co-ordinate All Food Safety Scientific Services – test identification, frequencies and parameters, review and interpretation of results, liaison with external labs
    • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
    • Develop, recommend, initiate, co-ordinate and monitor corrective and preventive actions

    Audit Management

    • Monitor risk management activities and conduct risk assessments in accordance with Food Safety, Food Defence and Food Fraud plans
    • Mini-audits are scheduled and conducted at regular intervals throughout the year
    • Findings are recorded, reported and actioned to eliminate them
    • Co-ordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
    • Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
    • Responsible for document management systems – primarily FSSC22000 Master File System, including reviews, revisions and updates
